Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet W/ Android Review Pt 6 (Web B
Sunday, February 28th, 2010
www.techreviewonline.co.uk video review. Please join our forums.
$299 16gb version, I purchased a 8gb Micro sdhc card to increase the storage capability. Please ask me if you want me to Review a particular android app/game that you want to see on the Archos 5 internet media tablet especially to see if it works well with it and I will see what I can do!
Part 6 of my review of the Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet w/ Android. I demonstrate the Web Browser and how speedy it is as well as Youtube. Please watch Part 7 here:

The Archos 5 Internet Media Tablet with the Android software is a wonderful combination of a personal media player and miniature computer! It is literally like a netbook and has advanced capabilities beyond that of your typical media players. It is a lot bigger than the Zune HD and ipod touch 3g with a gorgeous 4.8′ screen. The SSID flash versions that come in 8, 16, 32gb are thin and lightweight. The hard drive models that start at 160gb and go up to 500gigs are a bit thicker obviously
The A5 it is quite simply one of the best devices I have ever owned if not, THE best. It is not without it’s faults but it is really an amazing device.

The touch screen is not as touch responsive as the ipod touch or Zune HD with it’s OLED screen but it’s still
easy to use. You need to apply a bit of extra pressure with your fingers and thumbs because of the layers of
the screen. It’s not a huge deal and you will get used to it in no time. You MUST calibrate the screen by going into settings as soon as you set it up or you might find yourself being frustrated with you not touching the keyboard letters/numbers/games/apps correctly. Calibrating is essential. The screen although not as sharp as the Zune HD, is still a delight and very enjoyable because of it’s sheer size. Watching a music video or a video podcast or your own personal media is a lot of fun with the A5 it! I would give the A5 it the slight edge over the ipod touch 3g despite it’s better black level on video and the Zune HD despite it’s OLED glass screen.
The Google marketplace apps work for the most part really well on the A5 it but some didn’t work at all but
the majority so far did for me. A lot of the apps in the marketplace and the offical AppsLib Archos app store
are FREE!
I highly recommend this device, it’s lightweight, portable, has a beautiful large touch screen, has fast web
browsing, can watch youtube, you can use google voice, google talk, skype and thousands of other apps on it.
It comes with the Android OS and is one of the most amazing devices I have ever owned. For me the competition is between the Zune HD, ipod touch 3g and Archos 5 internet media tablet w/ Android. If you are into phones, I would also add the Motorola Droid in there too. The A5 is not perfect (what device isn’t), has some bugs but overall is well worth the purchase! BUY IT!!
